It’s hard to believe that Chipper, a true Memphis icon, is gone. His spirit will live on and my prayers are going up for the whole family.
Such great experiences growing up with Chipper as a cousin. As an adult, he told warm and generous stories about our extended family adventures: the camping trip to Minnesota (Uncle Joe and his minnow conservation while reeling in a fish), an experimental mini-cannon detonation after our multi-generational family Thanksgiving dinner in Decatur and the landing of a monstrous bass after dark on a fishing trip with cousins to the Leslie farm pond. He will remain with us as a warm and wise elder in our families’ traditions.
You just can’t make old friends. Thanks for the memories.
So sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed talking to Chipper. We shared an adventure when we both attended Kirksville State Teacher’s College. Neither ever forgot & enjoyed reminiscing. He will be missed.
I know that Spike worked for Harris motor company when he was in high school (62-65) and had fond memories. So sorry for your loss.
