Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Boyer, 65, of St. Joseph, MO, died January 11, 2024, peacefully at the family farm in Gorin, surrounded by family.

He was born June 21, 1958, to Keith and Ruth Ann Boyer in Hannibal.

On September 30, 1995, he married the former Julie L. Mathes in Kirksville. She survives.

He graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington and attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. Jeff had a successful 40-year career in the AgChem business.

Jeff was a Mizzou, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He loved to hunt, fish, spend time at the family farm, and teach his kids, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren how to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Boyer.

He is survived by: his wife, Julie L. (Mathes) Boyer; son, Chris (Michelle) Boyer; daughter, Amanda (Ben) Hall; grandsons, Wesley Boyer and Fletcher Hall; granddaughter, Madeline Hall; mother, Ruth Ann Boyer; brothers: Kent (Kim) Boyer, Tim (Patti) Boyer; sister, Julie Ann (Kevin Webb) Boyer; in-laws, Garry and Alice Kay Mathes; brother-in-law, David (Laurie) Mathes; sister-in-law, Janet (Larry) Reed; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

  4. I’d like to extend my deepest sympathy to the Boyer family. I first met Jeff when his family moved to Beaverdale & riding the school bus. The last time I saw Jeff was when he & his wife Julie attended our 25th high school class reunion. There’s a photo of him on our class FB page under the 25th reunion album. Rest easy Jeff.
