{May 11, 1933 - July 29, 2024}

Joan Frederick, 91, of Bible Grove died July 29, 2024 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City.

She was born the daughter of Floyd Aldo and Mary Edith (Bradley) Hunt on May 11, 1933 near Ainsworth, Iowa.

Joan married Roscoe Dorwin Frederick on December 15, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2008.

The Fredericks were parents of four children: Barbara, Larry, Ronnie and Donald.

She was a long-time, faithful member of the Bible Grove Christian Church. Joan moved with her family from Iowa to Missouri in 1945, where she attended the Bible Grove School.

Joan was a stay at home “MOM” for her family. She was an excellent cook. Her pie crusts were always flaky and just right. Joan made cooking her profession as she cooked at Bible Grove School and the Nutrition Center for many years. Children still comment on how good Joan’s meals were.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her Christian example will be seen for many generations.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Roscoe; son, Ronnie Gene Frederick on January 17, 1980; son-in-law, Lynn Triplett; grandson, Matt Frederick; grand daughter in law, Vanessa Triplett; brothers, Dale and Terry Hunt; sister, Berniece Forrester; and five brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.

She is survived by daughter, Barbara A. (Larry) Triplett Smith of Rutledge; sons, Larry R. (Joyce) Frederick and Donald R. (Elizabeth) Frederick, all of Bible Grove; ten grandchildren: Jamie (Dawn) Triplett, Chad (Heidi) Triplett, Curt Triplett, Joanie (James) Triplett Baker, Gerald (Kena) Frederick, Stanley Frederick, Vance (Andrea) Frederick, Lori (Ryan) Frederick Eidson, Kevin Frederick and Bryan (Kelli) Frederick; 20 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, George (Sharon) Frederick; sisters-in-law, Hazel Unglesbee, Mona Frederick and Carla Pulliam; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
